This is the original AH-REDSTICK invented by AutoHaulerSupply.(Many thanks to IHLE Transport out of IA, for letting us take the picture of their trailer with tractor on it.)
5 vertical sections. Extra heavy duty fiberglass and snap buttons. Replacement hinge hardware available... but you probably won't need it. Collapses down to just 57 inches.

Here is our new left handed or right handed set up (the first version we made was single sided). You have the option to switch, just by unbolting the arm, and reinstalling it the opposite way!
The aluminum hardware on this height stick is high grade. Features a longer wing bolt to make assembly and dis-assembly easier, plus fasteners to keep the fiberglass tubes securely anchored.

Be aware of cheap printing vs etched number on a height stick. Etching makes numbers last, while printing will wear out fast!

I personally haven't used it,but i bought it for one of our equipment haulers that somehow lost his other one ? I like that it was 20' instead of 15', it seems very well made & hopefully he won't lose this one w/ the highly visible orange color & matching bag ! If u leave it in the bag u should notice it's empty when u get back in the truck to take off , LOL ! Fast shipping & packaged properly ! Thanks for a great product !

Best purchase I have made for the truck so far. I bought the 20 foot stick after a great deal of research. I looked at everything from surveyors poles to actual height sticks. Hauling homes means every load is over height and needs to be verified or you get to hit a bridge. Also every load needs to be level. To do this right you measure from the top front and back. Most other solutions I found would have been inadequate. The 20 foot has proven to be the only tool for the job.

Bought the 20 ft height stick and picked up at the Atlanta facility. Much better quality than I expected. Several of the heavy haul drivers I have used it with are going to buy one too as it is heavier duty than the one they own. Great product and my sales person was great too

After purchasing multiple pieces of junk I've finally found something worth the extra coin. Durable, easy to use, very well constructed with a durable bag to store the height stick in. I use height sticks on my rgn and step deck trailers to confirm over dimensional freight heights and they have saved me thousands in extra permit costs due to 100% accurate height measurements. I've just upgraded to this 20 ft height pole and got the optional 4-7 foot extension. I run high pole for a lot of oversize loads and this new pole is just the best. I can now get much better measurements on tall loads that are also wide.It's a well made pole !!!

This is a really great product. I have not had it very long and already appreciate the higher quality from my previous stick. Like so many others here I specialize in oversize and overweight loads. The only thing I would like to see improved is the horizontal arm. Most of my over height loads arm not only tall, but also wide. I have found the the arm usually doesn't reach the highest point of the load. The quality of the fiberglass in this stick is much higher than the others I have seen and I believe would support an extendable arm. Just one section that could make it 6-7 feet would make a big difference in getting accurate height readings. If that is possible I would buy five more of these

I haul primarily specialized/heavy haul loads. Most of my loads are not only wide, and extremely heavy, but are also quite often over height as well. So a sturdy, accurate load measuring stick is an important tool that makes my job much easier, and safer by having an accurate measurement for clearance.
After searching many commercial and flatbed equipment suppliers, I was unfortunately only ever able to find poles that weren't capable of measuring loads over 15 feet high. Over and over again, I was finding a pole like I'd had before. Cheaply made, and flimsy. With the shafts being made of fiberglass that was far too thin. Plus, they were absurdly expensive for something so cheaply made. Then I found AutoHaulers Supply. Their load measuring pole was capable of measuring loads up to 20 feet. Not only could it measure up to 20 feet, but the price was even better than the 15 foot poles I had been looking at elsewhere. I was however, afraid that the price being that low meant the construction would be just as flimsy as the other poles I had already used, or looked at.
I can tell you honestly that I was shocked when I received the measuring stick. It's construction was by far superior to the poles I had used before. The shafts were made of sturdy, much thicker fiberglass than I expected, and the shafts don't loosely wallow around inside each other. Each shaft section fit perfectly within the next. When you extend one section, you simply move it out until it stops and then twist until the snap button locks in. You don't have to worry about the shaft moving out too far and then having to fight to get it to lock. It has a heavy rubber boot on the pole's base, unlike the thin plastic one on some other poles that often falls off and gets lost. The swing arm locks firmly in place, and doesn't sag downward like other poles I've used. The numbers have yet to scratch, or flake off. Even the carrying case that's included with the pole is heavy duty. It's made out of a thick, almost canvas-like nylon material. The plastic fasteners that lock the case's closing flap down are attached to sturdy, nylon straps that are riveted to the case. Along with a carrying handle/shoulder strap.
In this day and age it seems, the apparent philosophy is to design products to be so cheaply mass produced that it's more often than not, just as cost effective to replace something than it is to repair it. Everything is now it seems, made to be disposable. A consumer nowadays can get the impression that it's more advantageous to businesses to build a throw-away product that the consumer will need to buy over, and over again, rather than make a quality product that lasts for a long time.
That is why I have been happy with this load measuring pole. It is in my personal opinion, the best load measuring stick I've ever bought, hands down. Given how sturdy the construction seems to be, if properly cared for, it will undoubtedly last a long time. Possibly years.
I highly recommend this stick over many of the others I've seen in the industry, and will definitely be recommending to others at my company.

We have a pilot car service and are required to measure every high load. It really is an asset with the super loads 16' and over. I would recommend this item to all. We will be ordering our 2nd one in the near future for our second truck. Easy storage in the tool box and the case is very durable.

It's perfect for measuring the height of a manufactured home. For those of you who are still measuring your load with a tape measure y'all know how aggravating it is to get an accurate measurement . This device is a great way to feel safe and relaxed as you travel up the hiway. I am well pleased with the service and the people who I spoke with at this company were very professional and nice to talk to!!
